Death of the Performance Appraisal:

Performance Management has had a storied history.  The most famous is Jack Welch's "Rank and Yank" method where only the strong survive.  After decades of questionable effectiveness, many well-known compnaies have abandoned the traditional performance appraisal.

This session will be presented by Joseph Marth, PhD who is Vice President of Business Solutions at Archbright. He leads the team of HR, compensation, learning, and organization development professionals responsible for a full range of consulting services. Dr. Marth joined Archbright in 2008 and has more than 20 years of experience in human resources--including experience at small companies, Fortune 500 corporations, and nonprofit organizations. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Akron, with doctoral concentration in Organizational Psychology; an M.S. from the University of Akron; and a B.B.A. from Kent State University. Dr. Marth is a full member of the American Psychological Association and the Society of Industrial & Organizational Psychology and holds numerous certifications in organization development and psychology.
